Bok Bar

A cloudy sunset in Philadelphia, so nice to be almost reaching clouds.
But still magnificent views from atop what was a high school in South Philly. Some seats are high school science lab chairs others are chaise lounges
What an interesting repurposed vision to create a rooftop lounge called Bok Bar.
Chill loungey music, fun bar food and cocktails. And of course, an eclectic interesting stimulating group of people that embrace difference.
Cheers!

The Philadelphia Distilling

Dining inside a distillery uber fun. Great place to come with a group of friends.
The Philadelphia Distilling is the 1st distillery to open in the state of Pennsylvania since prohibition.
Located in Fishtown inside a factory that was abandoned for over 60 yrs.
The feel a mix of industrial with cozy leather sofas and oriental rugs. With views of the inner workings of this gin distillery. Their label is Bluecoat.
I’ve always been nervous about gin, but it’s amazingly smooth and light.
Featured is:
~ Under The Elm cocktail
~ Spelt Grain Slider with delicious salt/pepper fingerling potato chips

Cool loungey music and super friendly staff.
And the gift boutique has the most beautifully smelling candles made from the botanicals left at the bottom of each barrel.

Cheers!

Lacroix Restaurant

Pics from last nights SoMMer school @ The Rittenhouse. The Sommelier, Hai Tran was extremely knowledgeable, approachable, lighthearted and kind.
The focus of the evening ~ The Gardens of France. The delicious accompaniments to each glass of wine for our intimate group of 10 were wow in taste and beautiful in appearance.
And my favorite white wine Sancerre was featured.
Added bonus after class, sitting in Rittenhouse Square during a beautiful summer evening sunset
